Lucas de Azevedo Santos

Lucas was born and raised in Lavras, a small town surrounded by hills in the southeast of Brazil. He has been working with theoretical chemistry since his BSc and MSc thesis from the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). His PhD was done in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Teodorico C. Ramalho (UFLA) and Prof. Dr. F. Matthias Bickelhaupt groups. Currently, he is a postdoc at the VUA. Lucas is particularly interested in intermolecular interactions and fundamental research on chemistry to explain, in detail, the chemical phenomena using quantitative MO theory. Before losing his way in the chemistry world, Lucas had time to occasionally shred his guitar in some local bands and play the violin in the chamber orchestra of a local music school. In his spare time, he enjoys studying music, reading about finance and the philosophy of economics, and mostly playing videogames.
