Eveline Tiekink
PhD student
Eveline was born in Beverwijk, NL. Growing up in a family of chemists, she had a natural affinity for maths and chemistry. During her bachelor studies in chemistry at the VU and UvA, she completed her first project in the TheoCheM research group. This naturally sparked an interest in computational chemistry. Thereafter, she completed her master's joint degree in Molecular Sciences and began her PhD studies in September 2021 under the supervision of Dr. Trevor A. Hamlin and Prof. Dr. F. Matthias Bickelhaupt. Her current research focuses on understanding the origin of reactivity in catalyzed organic reactions, for instance, the Lewis acid catalyzed ene reaction. In her spare time, Eveline enjoys playing field hockey and working on jigsaw puzzles.
