Thomas Hansen

PhD student

Thomas grew up in Leiden, where he attended Leiden University, at which he obtained his M.Sc. degree summa cum laude. Directly after, he started his Ph.D. research, in which he used a joint computational and experimental approach to study the glycosylation reaction mechanism. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the groups of Matthias Bickelhaupt and Trevor Hamlin where he works on various topics, such as catalyst design, Lewis-base catalysis, SN2/E2 competition. His research interests lie at the interface between organic chemistry and computational chemistry. In his free time, he enjoys hiking in Nature, photography, and traveling.
